Fair Mitre prepare the accommodation ready for occupation the day you arrive in the UK. Prior to this date, we will ensure the property is clean, all utilities are switched on, any previously arranged furniture is delivered and provide an independently conducted inventory. This lists the property’s furniture and condition and is used as the bench mark when you vacate the property.
Our team wants to find the best matched student rental property for the best price. We know how important it is to be located close to the University, or to transport links that can get you there quickly. We can help you with advice and detailing on guarantor requirements that are needed in order for you to move in with confidence. If Guarantors cannot be provided, you will normally be asked to pay the rent in advance.
Once you have decided on the property you wish to move into: You will pay a ‘holding deposit’ equivalent to one week’s rent You (and your Guarantor, if required) will complete reference forms You will complete Right to Rent checks and provide the required documentation Tenancy agreements are drawn up once referencing and checks have been successful and you will sign this via the internet prior to occupation An inventory is completed and you will sign this prior to occupation The rent in advance and deposit will be paid prior to occupation and before keys can be provided We will supply guides and comprehensive information that you can refer to during your stay.
